A Message from Brandi for Miles Agains Melanoma
Hello,
I hope you all are staying warm!
I am very excited to announce that I am the Texas Representative for Miles Against Melanoma in Texas. This is a huge deal for me. I am so excited to turn my awful year of tough struggling in to something positive. I am certain that the date for the event will be June 4th, 2011. This email is just an introduction to the event. I am not the best planner but with my wonderful support system I have complete faith, we can get this done. I want the event to be family friendly and a safe day in the sun having tons of fun! I am in the beginning stages of planning and getting sponsors and all of the wonderful stuff it takes to make this happen.
I am open to suggestions and ideas. If any of you have ideas or contacts you believe will be interested in this cause, I will appreciate it, beyond belief! The Ms. Debbie White is helping with location and as of now we are shooting for the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth. What a great location for this event! My wonderful sister is helping with shirts and the founder of Miles Against Melanoma has provided the logo. I am so excited and think that once my excitement has settled I will be able to think more clearly on ideas.
I have a break from Doctor appointments until March and believe God has opened that time frame for me to work on this amazing event. Below are some things that I have in my head at this point.
Koozies
Face Painting
Free Skin Checks
Bounce House
Melanoma Awareness Clothing
Humane Society Pet adoptions
Pony Rides for children
Possible canoe rides on the river
Possible Band
I want this to not only be a walk but an event all ages can benefit from.
If any of you have contacts for any of the above please let me know. Also, I am open for ideas and suggestions!
Let's Make this HUGE! Melanoma is on the rise and I would love all proceeds to go to research for this terrible disease that has no cure.
Thank you all for taking the time to read.
